← Full guide: Roomba Charging Error (Check the Code Before a Battery Swap)

Roomba has no charging error, but battery percentage still does not rise

No error code does not mean the charging path is healthy.

Start here

No error code does not mean the charging path is healthy. Split the problem into dock power, robot-to-dock contact, battery condition, and a new-robot/battery wake-up state.

Check these first

  • Verify outlet and dock power.
  • Clean/inspect contacts and front caster/brush debris that can prevent full seating.
  • Check whether percentage changes after 30–60 minutes.
  • If the robot/battery is new, follow iRobot wake-up guidance for that model.

Fix it in this order

  1. Prove the dock has power.
  2. Prove the robot makes reliable contact.
  3. Use the model-specific wake/sleep mode procedure if applicable.
  4. Reseat the battery only after the simple power/contact checks.
  5. If still dead, isolate battery vs dock vs robot through support/known-good compatible parts.

Evidence to keep

  • Battery percentage over time
  • Dock power result
  • Contact condition
  • Model/new-battery status

Do not make it harder

  • Using dock light alone as proof of charging
  • Factory resetting before basic electrical/contact checks
  • Opening the robot before warranty support

How you know it is fixed

  • Battery percentage rises predictably and the robot leaves the dock with normal runtime.

If the obvious fix does not work

  1. If it charges only when manually repositioned, inspect contact wear/alignment.
  2. If it charges fully but runtime is very short, move to battery-runtime diagnosis rather than charging diagnosis.
  3. If it powers on but will not start a mission, check the app for a non-charging error such as bin/brush/sensor faults.

If this still isn't resolved

  1. iRobot support / authorized service
